8-9 Faeland

Event details image 2

Gentle, intuitive, and mystical, Faeland’s music blends folk traditions from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean with singer-songwriter stylings and a slice of pop – creating a captivating sound with instant appeal. Faeland’s audiences are often deeply moved and many end up singing along, even those hearing the music for the first time. Their songs deal with the deeper themes of humanity such as love, loss, healing, and magic. It’s clear this duo is fully committed to making music that changes lives for the better and adds something good to human existence.

Live performances can include acoustic guitars, double bass, harp, accordion, charango, banjo and violin. Ethereal, bittersweet vocals float across the mix and complete the picture. Echoes of Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, and Loreena Mckennitt are detectable but the vibe is original and individual.

9.15-10 James Frost

Event details image 3

James Frost is an independent British folk artist whose delicate, fingerpicked guitar and dreamlike lyrics have attracted attention from BBC 6Music, Glastonbury Festival and leading online platform Folk Radio UK. His sound is reminiscent of quintessential English songwriter Nick Drake and mainstream success Ben Howard, offering both traditional and more contemporary elements.

He has toured extensively in recent years, both as a solo artist and as a band, playing shows with Martha Tilston, James Yorkston, Tiny Ruins and many other folk heroes. Bookings include stages at Glastonbury Festival, Secret Garden Party Festival, Folk East, Into The Wild and many other folk gatherings and festivals in the UK. Whilst living on the road, he has performed in 700 year old Dartmoor chapels, festival saunas and at many living room house concerts arranged by fans. He has a good few stories to tell…
